Dr. Hilah Kate Kaufman is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in psychological assessment, measurement-based care, and digital behavioral health. Her work centers on translating psychological measurement into practical digital tools, bridging assessment science, clinical practice, and product design. She builds and maintains the measure libraries behind measurement-based care platforms so the instruments clinicians rely on are faithfully digitized, clinically sound, and useful in practice. She also works at the intersection of clinical psychology and AI, with a focus on how technology can support clinical decision-making while keeping clinical judgment at the center of care. Drawing on extensive experience in psychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults, Hilah brings a practitioner's perspective to how measurement is designed and delivered, focusing on making assessment a working part of treatment rather than an extra step alongside it.

Clinical experience
Hilah is a licensed clinical psychologist whose clinical work has centered on psychological assessment across the lifespan and on attachment and trauma in young children and families. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and her APA-accredited internship in infant mental health, providing Child-Parent Psychotherapy to strengthen attachment security in children affected by trauma. She has trained across outpatient, hospital, school, community, and forensic settings. In private practice, she conducted comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults.
Research
Hilah's research spans psychological measurement, digital behavioral health implementation, and behavior genetics. Her doctoral work used behavior genetics, which separates genetic from environmental influences, to examine how early parenting experiences shape adult family relationships. More recently, her work has focused on psychological measurement in clinical practice, including the development and implementation of digital measures and research on how behavioral health organizations integrate remotely administered suicide risk screening into routine care.
Teaching
Hilah has taught psychology and professional development courses at George Mason University since 2018, including Clinical Psychology and Psychological Tests and Measurement. She also ran George Mason's On-Campus Internship Program, coordinating placements for students facing barriers to employment. She previously taught at The George Washington University, including courses in psychological assessment, research methods, and psychological testing.

Hilah hosted NovoPsych's professional development webinar, Improve Mental Health Outcomes with Measurement-Based Care, and develops clinician-facing educational videos and resources on psychological assessment, psychometrics, and measurement-based care. Contribution to NovoPsych
At NovoPsych, Hilah helps ensure that psychological measures move from the research literature into digital clinical practice accurately and responsibly. She leads clinical quality review of assessments, including their scoring, interpretation, and implementation, and contributes to the development of new measures, assessment workflows, and reporting features. Her work also brings clinical judgment into product and UX design and supports teams across engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing. Across this work, her focus is on making high-quality measurement easier for clinicians to use so assessment can meaningfully inform what happens next in treatment.
